Upholstery Prep Assistant

The Role

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Upholstery Prep Assistant to join our busy upholstery team. This is a hands-on role supporting the preparation of furniture for upholstery work, helping to ensure high-quality finished products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing furniture frames for upholstery.
  • Removing old fabric, staples, and upholstery materials.
  • Cutting and preparing foam, wadding, and other materials.
  • Assisting upholsterers with workshop tasks as required.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area.
  • Loading, unloading, and moving furniture within the workshop.

Requirements:

  • Good practical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving furniture.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in upholstery, furniture manufacturing, or a workshop environment is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
