Owned and renovated by Glyn and Menna in 2001, the Harbourmaster Hotel is a lovely boutique venue located harbourside in the picturesque town of Aberaeron, Wales. Shortly after opening, it quickly gained popularity and established a strong sense of place within the community.
Requirement
It was important for the client to get the design and materials exactly right, so that the new seating complimented the existing interior design elements and features. We pride ourselves on our comprehensive service from dedicated account managers, so we were of course happy to assist wherever possible – understanding fully that the final look had to be a great fit for the restaurant. Leathers worked particularly well with the design and interior of the restaurant, so this was the upholstery cover of choice across the 2 seating areas.
What we did
We produced the made to measure banquette seating units in our iconic ‘Flute & Roll’ seating style. Flutes were created at 150 mm wide, and slightly rounder than our standard fluted back style. The benefit of our bespoke service is that all elements of our banquette seating can be tailored to your exact requirements. The client also required accessible plug sockets – a great option for those needing to charge their phones, or a convenient access point for cleaners to connect their devices. As timber legs had been chosen, we created some socket boxes in a stylish oak veneer which nested under the banquette units. These were polished alongside the timber legs in our in-house spray facility for a uniform finish. A beautiful semi-aniline leather called ‘Heritage, Old Navy’ from Yarwood Leather was selected for the upholstery cover. This leather offers a wonderfully soft and tactile finish, which showcases the natural characteristics of the material excellently.
