Sitting in the heart of vibrant Mayfair, London, on what was once a grand country estate – Moncks of Dover St is the new spot for relaxed all-day dining. This brasserie style venue is open daily from early morning to late evening, allowing guests to indulge in exciting options for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks.
The truly stunning restaurant and bar is complimented by a light filled rear space that overlooks a lushly planted courtyard. Moncks serves time-honoured classic dishes using only the finest produce, so you can be sure that all dishes are elegant and delicious to the last bite.
The cosmopolitan all-day brasserie includes a traditional British palette, steeped in rich oxblood reds and royal blues with layered details and intricacies providing a modern twist. As the fixed banquette seating within the space is relatively modest in detailing, the quality of the upholstery and finish had to be of the highest possible standard. Andy Goodwin of Fettle, the LA and London based design studio quoted “Atlas were selected to work on the project as they have successfully completed many other projects with us in the past and we trusted them to deliver this product to a quality that both we and the client required”. They also commented on the importance of the added comfort and quality provided by our sprung seating technology.
What we did
An assortment of seating arrangements were used across the different seating areas in the venue, creating an exciting and dynamic environment. The use of booth style seating facilitates an intimate feel, whereas the longer lengths of seating with integrated corners make great use of the space at hand, while also accommodating larger groups of people. As our seating is entirely bespoke, the dimensions were tailored for a perfectly seamless fit. All seating was produced in our ‘Flute & Plain Roll’ style across the various areas of the venue, with piping to the leading edge of the seat.
Some of the banquette units were upholstered solely in a stunning real leather called ‘Oxblood’ by Futura, whereas others had additional customisation to the top ‘Plain Roll’. For this, a gorgeous softcover called ‘Baker's Indienne/Blue/Pink’ from GP&J Baker was used. Medium stained oak plinths with a stylish 5% gloss lacquer completed the look.
The end results are elegant, welcoming and full of character. Our seating compliments the timeless interior design elements which have been carefully curated with an excellent eye for detail by the design team, which ackowledge the heritage and Georgian architecture harmoniously. Fettle noted that “The banquettes and space are immaculate and have been very well received by the client team, guests and the design press. We are incredibly pleased with the results”.
It has been a pleasure to work on this project, and we are delighted with the results and feedback.
