The Marlborough based restaurant is one of fourteen properties in the highly acclaimed Rick Stein portfolio. With a passion for fresh seafood, the country townhouse property has a contemporary seaside feel with cosy dining spaces for visitors to relax in.
Rick Stein’s interior designer got in touch with us to discuss their contract furniture options. Their Marlborough restaurant is located in the picturesque countryside county of Wiltshire. While a little different to their usual seaside towns in Devon and Cornwall, it was still important to create a seaside feel that complemented the country townhouse features they would retain in the restaurants decor.
What we did
We used two different styles of banquette seating for Rick Stein’s restaurant. The first was a fixed bench seat with a plain back, finished in a sea-blue colour, and the second was a floating button back bench in a rich jade colour. We paired the plain back bench seating with loose chairs with adequate back support and armrests for diners to sit back and relax in. The armchairs were finished in a complementing pale blue fabric. We chose to use a dark wooden armchair with a curved spindle back to feature opposite the floating button backed seating, which went nicely with the dark wooden tables. The warm natural tones from the wooden furniture and flooring, with the rich luxurious coloured fabrics against the soft cream decor, bought the whole restaurant together to achieve the brief.
We were delighted to provide such a well suited solution that met our client’s brief using a variety of styles. We used a contrast of pastel tones and rich colours in high-quality textured fabrics to deliver a luxurious finish that complements the Rick Stein brand. The combination of dark wooden chairs and tables adds a new texture to the rooms aesthetic without detracting from the eye-catching blue and jade tones of the banquette bench seating.
